MIAA HOME STANDEmporia State is set to continue their MIAA home stand this weekend as they face off against Northwest Missouri Friday at the Emporia HS Pitch. Emporia State will then face Missouri Western on Sunday on the ESU Pitch.
LAST TIME OUTIn a game that had no lack of scoring on either side, Emporia State fell to the wrong side of the scoreboard in a 4-3 loss to Central Oklahoma. It was their first overtime match of the season. The Hornets got a pair of first half goals from Kelsey Wakefield and one from Jacki Martinek with just under 30 minutes remaining to tie the score. The Bronchos would score 5:08 into the first overtime to take the victory.
THE COACHESBryan Sailer is 29-40-15 in his fifth year at Emporia State and is the winningest coach in program history. He is 11-11-3 over his last 25 matches dating back to last year. He is 1-4-0 against Northwest Missouri and 2-2-0 against Missouri Western.
Tracy Hoza has been the head coach of Northwest Missouri since 2003 and is the winningest coach with 83 career wins at Northwest.
Chad Edwards is in his fifth season as the head coach at Missouri Western with a record of 21-41-5 as a head coach.

Amelie Heun leads the MIAA in goals, points and game winning goals. She is 18th in the nation in game winning goals and ranks 13th in total goals scored this season. She is second on the list for Emporia State single season goals scored. Grace Linton and McKenzie Koch each have three goals, while Jaide Allenbrand, Jacki Martinek, and Kelsey Wakefield each have two goals and Ally Taylor has scored once. Goal keeper Yadira Rivera has played all 915 minutes between the pipes and has 56 saves and four shut outs on the season.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATSNorthwest Missouri 2-5-2 on the season. The Bearcats have been outscored 23-9 by their opponents on the season. The Bearcats have six different scorers on the season. Leading the way, each with two goals are Anna Holden, Elizabeth Finn, and Elizabeth Lee. Also scoring for the Bearcats are Katelynn Lindsey, Ashton Reuter, and Jessica Breyfogle. Ashley Malloy is in goal for the Bearcats with 67 saves and one shut out on the season.

LAST TIME AGAINST NWMSUEmporia State defeated Northwest Missouri 1-0 last season. Grace Linton scored the lone goal in the match on a penalty kick in the 86th minute. Goalkeeper Yadira Rivera recorded her fifth shut out of the season in the game.
SCOUTING THE GRIFFONSMissouri Western is 4-3-1 on the season. The Griffons have attempted 133 shots to their opponents 97 and have outscored opponents 11-7 this season. The Griffons are led by Bridget Blessie with three goals, Cassidy Chappell and Sydney Cluck each with two goals, and four other scorers with one goal each.

LAST TIME AGAINST MWSUEmporia State would fall to Missouri Western 1-0 in a match that saw 24 fouls and only 21 total shots. Emporia State only got off three shots in the game while Missouri Western took 18. The lone score in the game came shortly into the second half when Tara Russell was assisted by Sydney Cluck.
UP NEXTEmporia State will travel back to Missouri next weekend to face Southwest Baptist on Friday October 15, and finish the weekend at Missouri Southern on Sunday October 17.
