October 3, 2015 - Emporia State swept the Bearcats of Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Mo. to end their tour around Missouri this weekend.
KEY MOMENTS
In the first set there were 12 score ties between the Hornets and Bearcats, leading them to a 24-24 tie. Emporia State then took a 25-24 lead over Southwest Baptist on blocks assists from Emma Benton and Danika Burton. The Hornets then took the set 26-24 on an attack error by the Bearcats.
CONSISTENT HITTING
Following their season high .389 hitting percentage aginst Missouri Southern on Oct. 2, the Hornets maintained an above .300 hitting against Southwest Baptist with .316 hitting. Josie Williams led the attack with 13 kills on a .478 hitting percentage while
Danika Burton had seven kills on a .455 hitting and Shayla Cotman added four kills on a .500 hitting. Setter Kimberly Bell also had two kills on three attempts.
