October 23, 2015 - Emporia State fell in three sets Friday night, 20-25, 15-25, 23-25, to #10 Central Oklahoma at home.
FIRST TWO SETS
The Hornets and Bronchos were tied 8-8 on a Danika Burton kill in the first set. After that, Central Oklahoma would take the lead and never look back. in the second set, the last tie would be at 3-3 on a kill by Julia Joseph. Again, Central Oklahoma took the set 25-15.
LAST SET
The Hornets jumped out to an early 6-2 lead in the third and final set. Emporia State then led until a tie at 20-20. Central Oklahoma finished the set 25-23.
KEY PLAYERS
Danika Burton had 14 kills for a .393 hitting percentage with one solo block and two block assists. Tatum Graves had 6 kills on 11 attempts with no errors for a .545 hitting percentage with two block assists. Sydney Hartman had a team high 21 assists on the night. Kelly Holden had a match high 20 digs.
TOUGH SCHEDULE
This is the fifth loss to a nationally ranked team for the Hornets this season.
