January 3, 2015-Terrence Moore had 20 points and a career high seven assists to lead four Hornets in double figures as Emporia State defeated Lincoln 75-54 on Saturday afternoon in White Auditorium.
The pace was sluggish in the early going with the score tied at seven with 14:30 left. Leading 15-13 with just under nine minutes left, Emporia State went on a 10-2 run to take a 25-15 lead with 5:59 left. Lincoln hit an old fashioned three-point play to cut the lead to nine with 2:50 left only to see the Hornets finish the period on a 9-1 run to take a 17 point lead into the locker rooms.
Emporia State outscored Lincoln 22-11 in the first 7:49 of the second half to take a 58-30 lead with 12:11 left in the game. The Hornets hit their last field goal with 2:36 leaf and the Blue Tigers scored the final seven points of the game for the final 75-54 score.
Moore was joined in double figures by Jevon Taylor with 13 points, Micah Swank with 11 and Terrence Sardin with ten points. The Hornets forced 24 turnovers with just 11 of their own in the game.
Emporia State is back in action on Monday night when they play host to Lindenwood. Tip-off from Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium is set for 7:30 p.m.
