January 24, 2015-The Emporia State men wrapped up a five game road trip with a 68-50 loss at Central Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon. It was the fourth straight loss that the Hornets were held under 60 points.
Emporia State led 7-4 with 16:10 left when Central Oklahoma went on a 12-0 run to take the lead for good. The Hornets would close to within 26-22 with 4:13 left in the half only to see the Bronchos close out the half with an 11-4 run.
Central Oklahoma would lead by 25 points with 13:47 left in the game. Emporia State would close to within 16 points with 4:19 left on a Terrence Moore jumper, but that would be the final field goal for the Hornets.
Moore and Jay Temaat led Emporia State with 11 points each while Moore added a game high nine rebounds.
The Hornets are back in action on Wednesday, January 28 when they play host to Ft. Hays State. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium.
