February 12, 2014-The Emporia State men snapped a four game losing streak with a 73-65 win over Northeastern State on Wednesday night at White Auditorium.  Paul Bunch pulled down a career high 17 rebounds to become the third Hornet with at least 15 rebounds in a game this season.

The Hornets fell behind by as many as 12 points in the first half before they held the RiverHawks scoreless for 5:44 to cut the lead to 29-26 with 1:27 left.  A three-pointer from Michael Harmon with 49 seconds left gave Northeastern State a 32-26 lead at the break.

An 11-3 run to open the second half gave the Hornets the lead at 37-35 with 17:06 left.  With Emporia State trailing 47-45 Jay Temaat was fouled on a three-pointer and hit all three charities to start a 7-0 run.  Northeastern regained the lead at 58-57 with 4:57 left when the Hornets went on a 6-0 run to take the lead for good.  Gavin Brown hit two jumpers at the end of the run for a 63-58 lead with 3:10 left.

Kaleb Wright led all scorers with 25 points while Bunch recorded his fifth double-double of the year with 13 points and 17 rebounds. Brown also reached dobule figures with 13 points and had a team high four assists.

The Hornets are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Edmond, Okla. to take on Central Oklahoma. Tip-off in Hamilton Field House is set for 3:30 p.m.
