December 20, 2014-The Emporia State men were held to .343 shooting from the field in an 84-69 loss at Missouri Southern on Saturday in Joplin, Mo.
The Lions led 34-24 with 6:10 left in the first half when the Hornets went on a 13-4 run to pull within one point with 2:41 left in the half. Missouri Southern started the second half with a 15-0 run to take a 57-39 lead with 14:57 left in the game.
Terrence Moore led four Hornets in double figures with 16 points. Josh Pedersen, Micah Swank and Tyler Jordan all scored 11 points. Terrence Sardin led Emporia State with eight rebounds.
The Hornets will take the NCAA Division II Life in the Balance break until they play host to Sterling on December 31. Tip-off from Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium is set for 1:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
