November 11, 2014-All 12 Hornets that suited up scored or grabbed a rebound in Emporia State's 109-56 loss at #5 Kansas in exhibition play in Allen Fieldhouse on Veterans Day.
The Hornets were within ten points at 22-12 with 7:03 left in the first half when the Jayhawks went on an 11-1 run to take a 20 point lead with 4:19 left in the period. Emporia State would go into the half trailing 46-25.
Kansas scored the first nine points of the second half and would push their lead to as many as 56 before settling for the 109-56 win.
Jay Temaat was the only Hornet in double figures, finishing with 16 points while Terrence Moore added nine points. Terrence Sardin had a game high nine rebounds for Emporia State while Micah Swank and McWisdom Badejo each pulled down five boards.
Emporia State will open the regular season on Friday, November 14 when they take on Concordia-St. Paul in the NSIC-MIAA Tip-off Challenge. Tip-off is set for 4:15 p.m. at the Doolittle Community Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
