October 17, 2014- Emporia State fell to Southwest Baptist by a final score of 3-0 on Friday night at the EHS pitch.
The Bearcats scored the first goal in the 30th minute on a shot by Whitney Snow assisted by Karla Jamison. The score would remain 1-0 Bearcats until the 62nd minute when Jamison scored on a header assisted by Taylor Schmidt. Southwest Baptist's final goal came in the 88th minute on a unassisted goal by Snow.
Emporia State took a total of 14 shots with six of them ending up on goal. Southwest Baptist shot 18 times and seven of them were on target. Eight totals fouls were committed by the Hornets with the Bearcats committing 14Â fouls. Yadia Rivera recorded seven saves in the loss, while Cheyenne Forshey had 6 saves for the Bearcats.
The Hornets are back in action Sunday, October 19 against Missouri Southern State at 2 p.m. at the EHS pitch.Â
