January 26, 2014-The second-ranked Lady Hornets put three players in double figures in a 73-50 victory over Central Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon at Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium.  The win is the 12th straight at home for Emporia State to match the sixth longest home court winning streak in school history.

The Bronchos jumped out to an early 9-2 lead only to see the Lady Hornets respoind with a 9-2 run of their own.  An Olivia Mason jumper gave Central Oklahoma a 17-16 lead with 12:21 left in the half before Emporia State went on a 19-4 run to take control of the game.  The Lady Hornets would take a 21 point lead into the lockerroom at 47-26.

An 8-2 run to open the half gave Emporia State the biggest lead of the day at 55-28 with 16:55 left in the game.  Central Oklahoma would cut the lead to 16 at 62-46 with 5:45 remaining but the Lady Hornets ended the game on an 11-4 run for the final margin.

Laura Patrick led Emporia State with 17 points including a four of nine effort from the three point line.  She was joined in double figures by Haley Parker and Rheanna Egli with ten points each.  Desiree Wylie led the Lady Hornets with 11 rebounds while Merissa Quick blocked five shots.

Emporia State is back in action on Thursday, January 30 when they travel to #24 Ft. Hays State.  Tip-off from Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays, Kan. is set for 5:30 p.m.
