SOUTHERN COMFORT  
The Lady Hornets play their second to last road game at Missouri Southern before a three game home stand.
 
THE COACHES
Jory Collins is 58-24 in his third year as the head coach of the Lady Hornets and has guided them to the MIAA Tournament Championship Game in each of his first two seasons. He has seven wins against Top 25 teams. This is his 12th season on the Lady Hornet coaching staff and Emporia State has advanced to the NCAA tournament in ten of those seasons. He is 4-1 against Missouri Southern.
Maryann Mitts is 186-143 in her 12th year at Mo. Southern and 269-199 in her 17th year overall. She is 5-20 against Emporia State at MSSU and 5-24 against the Lady Hornets overall.


ABOUT THE LADY HORNETS
Emporia State is 15-6 on the year and 10-3 in the MIAA.  The Lady Hornets have won eight straight and ten of their last 11 games. They have won seven straight MIAA games by at least ten points for the first time since recording eight straight double digits wins from Jan. 27-Feb. 20, 2008.  
 
LAST TIME OUT
Emporia State put five players in double figures as the Lady Hornets defeated Central Oklahoma 73-60 in Edmond, Okla. on Wednesday. Laura Patrick had 17 points and was joined in double figures by Merissa Quick and Sarah Wood with 12 points each, Rachel Hanf with 11 and Jocelyn Cummings with ten points.  

ABOUT THE LIONS
Missouri Southern is 11-11 on the year and 5-9 in the MIAA. They have lost their last two games by three points and in overtime.  Ten of 12 players on the roster have started and no Lion averages in double figures on the season. Erin Rice and Dominque Mosley each average 9.0 points per game.

THE SERIES    
The Lady Hornets lead the overall series 50-22, and have won 18 of the last 21 meetings overall. Emporia State has won 18 straight against Missouri Southern in White Auditorium dating back to the 1995-96 season but are just 8-5 all-time at the Leggett & Platt Center.

LAST TIME VS. MO. SOUTHERN
Laura Patrick had a game high 22 points on six of eight shooting as Emporia State defeated Missouri Southern 68-52 in White Auditorium The Lions jumped out to a 6-0 lead and led 16-15 with 6:37 left in the half.  Emporia State ended the half on a 13-3 run to take a 28-19 lead into the lockerroom. The lead remained between 5-12 points for much of the second half until the Lady Hornets went on a 13-1 run to go up 64-47 with 3:05 left in the game. Patrick was joined in double figures by Merissa Quick with 15 points and Rachel Hanf with 13 points. Hanf hit three treys and moved into fourth in career three pointers made in Lady Hornet history.

UP NEXT
Emporia State begins a three game home stand on Wednesday against Pittsburg State. The rematch of last year's NCAA Regional Championship game is set to tip-off at 5:30 p.m. in White Auditorium.
