November 8, 2013 - A stellar Emporia State season was concluded with a 2-1 loss to Southwest Baptist in the semifinals of the MIAA postseason tournament.
The Bearcats got two first half goals from Karla Jamison, her ninth and tenth goals of the season.
Emporia State answered with Emily Haselwood's first goal of the season 13 minutes into the second half.
The Hornets took seven shots in the second half and two more corners than Baptist in the final 45 minutes, but were unable to score a game-tying goal.
The Bearcats outshot the Hornets 27-11 and freshman goal keeper Yadira Rivera made nine saves.
Emporia State's season record finished at 9-8-3, one win short of tying a program record. The semifinal appearance was the furthest the team had advanced in the MIAA Tournament in program history.
