November 8, 2013-Paul Bunch had 20 points, eight rebounds and five blocks as Emporia State defeated UMKC 81-76 in Municipal Auditorium on Friday afternoon. It is the first exhibition win over an NCAA Division I program for the Hornets and counts as a regular season game for the Kangaroos.
The Hornets used a 10-2 run midway through the second half to push a three point lead to double digits at 61-50 with 8:23 left.
Bunch was joined in double figures by Kaleb Wright and Terrence Moore with 17 points each and Gavin Brown with 11 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
The Hornets are back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to 2013 Division I Final Four participant and 16th ranked Wichita State. Tip-off from Koch Arena in Wichita is set for 1:05 p.m.
