November 18, 2013-The Emporia State men moved to 4-0 on the year with a 108-51 victory over Bethel on Monday night at Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium.
Neither team scored until Gavin Brown hit a pair of free throws at the 17:25 mark to spark a 12-0 run for Emporia State. Bethel would never get within single digits the rest of the night.
Kaleb Wright scored 19 points to lead five Hornets in double figures. Terrence Moore and Jevon Taylor both scored 15 points while Paul Bunch and Jay Temaat each scored 12 points for Emporia State. Gavin Brown had 11 rebounds as the Hornets outrebounded the Threshers 51-26 on the night.
Emporia State will now travel to Fairbanks, Alaska to take part in the GCI Alaska Invitational. They will open the tourney against Fresno Pacific on Thursday at 8 p.m. (CT) in Fairbanks.
