November 14, 2013-The Emporia State men held Sterling to just 29.3% shooting in an 80-56 win on Slaymaker Court at White Auditorium on Thursday night.  The Hornets dominated on the boards outrebounding the Warriors 56-31 on the night.

The Hornets never trailed and used a 9-0 run to take a 12 point lead at 18-6 with 12:07 left in the first half. An 11-1 run pushed the lead to 19 with 6:16 left in the half and Sterling would not get within 13 points the rest of the night.

Kaleb Wright had 15 points while Paul Bunch and Micah Swank each added ten for the Hornets.  Gavin Brown had a career high 16 rebounds to go with six points and three assists.

After playing five games in seven days, the Hornets will have three days off of competition until the play Bethel on Monday.  Tip-off from Slaymaker Court in White Auditorium is set for approximately 7:30 p.m. following the Lady Hornets game with Tabor.

NOTES
Brown's 16 rebounds were the most by a Hornet since Lamar Wilbern grabbed 16 against Pittsburg State on Jan. 10, 2009.
