BACK ON THE ROAD  
The Lady Hornets head back on the road to play Southwest Baptist.  The Lady Hornets will play four of their first five MIAA games on the road.   
 
THE COACHES
Jory Collins is 49-23 in his third year as the head coach of the Lady Hornets and has guided them to the MIAA Tournament Championship Game in each of his first two seasons. He has seven wins against Top 25 teams. This is his 12th season on the Lady Hornet coaching staff and Emporia State has advanced to the NCAA tournament in ten of those seasons. He is 3-1 against SBU.
Todd Voss is 15-23 in his second year at Southwest Baptist and 151-61 overall in his seventh year as a head coach. He is 0-2 against Emporia State.

ABOUT THE LADY HORNETS
Emporia State is 6-5 on the year and 1-2 in the MIAA and have played one of the toughest schedules in the country.  Their first 11 opponents are a combined 89-49 on the season. Seven of the nine NCAA schools they have played have received votes in the WBCA National Poll or played in last year's NCAA Tournament.  The two NAIA schools on the schedule are a combined 24-8 this year.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Laura Patrick scored 18 points to lead four Lady Hornets in double figures as Emporia State upset #10 Ft. Hays State 69-54 on Saturday afternoon in White Auditorium. The Lady Hornets trailed 33-26 at the half but used a 16-2 run in the second half to take control of the game.

ABOUT THE BEARCATS
Southwest Baptist is 6-6 on the year and 1-3 in the MIAA. They are 5-0 at home this season.  They lost in double overtime at Washburn and by just three points at Central Missouri. Four players average in double figures led by Jacqui Zelenka at 11.8 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game.

THE SERIES    
The Lady Hornets lead the all-time series 31-12 and has won 20 of the last 23 match-ups. Three of the Southwest Baptist wins have come in the last five years with two of the wins coming in Bolivar.  The last meeting in Bolivar was a 70-67 double overtime win for the Lady Hornets.

LAST TIME VS. SOUTHWEST BAPTIST
Heather Robben scored 22 points on seven of eight shooting from the field as #21 Emporia State defeated Southwest Baptist 70-57 in White Auditorium.  The Lady Hornets shot .536 from the field in the win. SBU had a 5-4 lead with 16:58 left in the first half when Emporia State went on a 9-0 and would not trail the rest of the game.  A Kathryn Flott layup with 11:01 remaining in the game gave Emporia State their biggest lead of the night at 57-38.  SBU would cut the lead to eight at 63-55 with 2:18 left but Robben connected on five of five free throws in the final 50 seconds to secure the win. Robben was joined in double figures by Sarah Wood with 12 points.

UP NEXT
The Lady Hornets travel to Kirksville, Mo. for the final time on Saturday to take on Truman as members of the MIAA.  Tip-off from Pershing Arena is set for 1:00 p.m.
