January 30, 2013-For the second straight game Rachel Hanf posted a career high in scoring as Emporia State rolled to an 88-53 win over Neb.-Kearney on Wednesday night. The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 10-2 lead and never trailed in the contest.
Hanf had her second career double-double with career highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds. She was joined in double figures by Desiree Wylie with 12 points, Rheanna Egli and Sarah Wood with 11 points each and Laura Patrick with 10 points. Egli dished a game high seven assists as Emporia State shot a season best 55.2 from the field.
The Lady Hornets are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Northwest Missouri. Tip off is set for 1:30 p.m. at Bearcat Arena in Maryville, Mo.
NOTES:
Hanf passed Casey Cookson and Kristie Nelson-Lackey to move into 24th on the Lady Hornet career scoring list with 1,033 points.
After scoring 89 in a win over UCO on Sunday, the Lady Hornets have scored over 80 points in consecutive games for the first time since Nov. 25-26, 2011 and the first time in MIAA play since Jan. 1-5, 2011.
