The Lady Hornets wrap up a three game home stand with their first conference match-up with Central Oklahoma.   
 
THE COACHES
Jory Collins is 52-24 in his third year as the head coach of the Lady Hornets and has guided them to the MIAA Tournament Championship Game in each of his first two seasons. He has seven wins against Top 25 teams. This is his 12th season on the Lady Hornet coaching staff and Emporia State has advanced to the NCAA tournament in ten of those seasons. This is his first meeting with Central Oklahoma.
Guy Hardaker is 134-63 in his seventh year at Central Oklahoma. He is 1-0 against Emporia State.

ABOUT THE LADY HORNETS
Emporia State is 9-6 on the year and 4-3 in the MIAA.  Three Lady Hornets average in double figures led by Laura Patrick at 15.7 points per game. Their first 15 opponents are a combined 160-90 (.640) with the losses coming to teams that are 74-20 (.787) on the season. Ten of the 13 NCAA schools they have played have received votes in the WBCA National Poll or played in last year's NCAA Tournament.  
 
LAST TIME OUT
Laura Patrick had a game high 22 points on six of eight shooting as Emporia State defeated Missouri Southern 68-52 in White Auditorium on Wednesday night. Patrick was joined in double figures by Merissa Quick with 15 points and Rachel Hanf with 13 points. Hanf hit three treys and moved into fourth in career three pointers made in Lady Hornet history.

ABOUT THE BRONCHOS
Central Oklahoma is 8-8 on the season and 1-7 in the MIAA. They have lost seven straight conference games after opening MIAA play with a 70-62 win at Pittsburg State. Alyssa Fuxa is their leading scorer at 12.3 points per game and had a season high 28 against Cameron. They are last in the MIAA in rebound margin at -5.9 boards per game.

THE SERIES    
The Lady Hornets lead the overall series 8-4 and this will be the first time the two have met as conference rivals. Emporia State has won five of six games played in White Auditorium, with the last one coming during the 2000-01 season.

LAST TIME VS. CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
Despite a game high 24 points and 12 rebounds from All-American Michelle Stueve, the #3 Lady Hornets fell to Central Oklahoma 71-66 on the second day of the Cameron/Powerade Thanksgiving Classic in Lawton, Okla. Stueve scored the first eight points of the second period for ESU to pull the Lady Hornets within five at the 17:41 mark. She picked up her fourth foul on a lay-up with 12:57 left and ESU trailing by nine. Steuve and Andrea Leiker were the only Lady Hornets in double figures with Leiker ending with 14 points. ESU outrebounded UCO 42-24 but the Lady Hornets turned the ball over 19 times and the Bronchos took advantage with 16 more shots from the field than ESU.

UP NEXT
The Lady Hornets are back on the road January 30 to take on Nebraska-Kearney. Tip-off from the Health & Sports Center in Kearney is set for 5:30 p.m.
