January 12, 2013-Chris Sights scored 17 points to lead three Hornets in double figures as Emporia State picked up their first MIAA win of the season with a 65-60 victory at Truman. 

The Hornets jumped out to a 16-6 lead and never trailed in the game.  Truman would tie the score at 52 with 9:27 left when Gavin Brown and Paul Bunch hit back to back buckets to give Emporia State the lead for good.

Sights scored 11 of his points in the second half.  Kaleb Wright joined him in double figures with 15 points while Bunch added 10 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots.  Brown finished with six points, seven rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal in his first game back after the death of his grandmother.

The Hornets are back in action on Sunday, January 20 against Missouri Western.  Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m. in White Auditorium.  It will be the last trip to White by long time Griffon coach Tom Smith.
