THIS ONE’S FOR THE KIDS
The Hornets face Southwest Baptist to open a two game homestand. It is Take a Kid to the Game day, kids 12 and under will receive free admission with a paid adult ticket.

LAST TIMEOUT
ESU outscored Central Missouri by three from the field, but were outscored 29-8 from the line in a 76-61 road loss. Tola Lawal led the way hitting five of eight shots from the field and going five for five from the free throw line. He finished with 15 points as three Hornets finished in double figures. Troy Pierce came one rebound shy of a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Chris Sights added 12 points for the Hornets.

THE COACHES
Shaun Vandiver is 8-12 in his first year at ESU. The former NBA round draft pick spent the last ten years as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level, most recently at Boise State University. As a player he led Hutchinson CC to the 1988 NJCAA National Championship before earning first-team All-Big 8 honors at Colorado. He is 0-1 in his career against Southwest Baptist.
Jeff Guiot is 154-80 in his ninth season at Southwest Baptist. He is 10-6 against ESU in his career.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Southwest Baptist is 15-9 and 8-7 in the MIAA. The Bearcats are led by Ryan Dougherty who is averaging 16.0 points per game. They are led on the glass by Robson Memnon who is averaging 6.3 rebounds and 12.3 points per game. Kyle Sloan is also in double figures with 12.5 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 43rd meeting between the two teams with SBU holding a 26-16 overall advantage.

LAST TIME VS. SBU
ESU shot .530 from the field, but could not overcome 17 turnovers in an 82-80 loss at Southwest Baptist. ESU led by three points before Jake Littrel converted a three-point play to give SBU the lead with 30 seconds left. Tola Lawal’s three pointer came just short with 10 seconds to play. Lawal led all scorers with 19 points on the afternoon. Taylor Euler was three of six from behind the three point line and added 16 points to the Hornets effort.

ESU will face #19 Missouri Southern for a scheduled 7:30 p.m. tip-off on Feb. 11 from White Auditorium.
