November 10, 2012 - Kaleb Wright scored 22 points as the Emporia State men's basketball team opened the 2012-13 season with a 66-56 win over Missouri S&T at Billy Key Court in Rolla, Mo.

Wright scored 15 of his points before the break, going six of nine from the field and three of five from three-point range.

Tre Boutilier scored 15 points off the bench for Emporia State. Taylor Euler scored 10 points and led the Hornets with six assists. Gavin Brown led the Hornets with 10 rebounds and added eight points.

Emporia State shot .500 from the field and from three-point range in the first half, while holding the Miners to 32.1% before the break.

The Hornets also took advantage of 19 Missouri S&T turnovers, which led to 22 points. Emporia State also held a 29-18 advantage in points in the paint.

The Hornets led by as many as 17, and there were only two lead changes during the game. Missouri S&T's only lead was at 2-0.

Emporia State returns to White Auditorium for the home opener versus Central Christian College on Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
