Against Abilene Christian ESU hit .667 in the opening set, but could not overcome strong hitting late by the Wildcats in a 25-8, 19-25, 25-23, 18-25 and 10-15 loss.

Paige Vanderpool had a double-double for the Hornets with 16 kills and 15 digs. Katie Deutschmann also had a double-double with 26 assists and 13 digs. Brianna Kaiser had a third double-double for ESU as she finished with 13 kills and 13 digs while hitting .364.

Amanda Gerety had 24 assists and Meg Schwartz added 23 digs.

ESU will welcome Southwest Baptist to town on Oct. 4. It will be the "Dig for the Cure Game," all fans wearing pink will receive free admission. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. from W. L. White Auditorium.
