OVERVIEW: This will be Valerie’s third year on the Hornets Volleyball Team. The team is looking forward to her making an impact on the court as a middle blocker. Valerie has a contagious charisma while playing and her ability to bend the ball makes her a force at the net.   

AWARDS/HONORS: Athletic Director Honor Roll, Deans Honor Roll for School of Business, Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society

SOPHOMORE YEAR: Played in 21 matches (56 sets), started in 13 of them. Valerie had a total of 44 kills on a .117 hitting percentage and 24 blocks.  She had a season high 7 kills on .462 hitting percentage against West Texas A&M.

FRESHMEN YEAR: Valerie played in 25 matches (70 sets) and started in 22 of them.  She had a season total 76 kills and 63 blocks.  Valerie had a season high 13 kills on a .358 hitting percentage, along with 8 blocks against Oklahoma Baptist.

HIGH SCHOOL/BEFORE HONORS: Valerie competed in both volleyball and basketball in high school. She was a starter on the 5A State Champion team (Shawnee Heights HS) in 2016 for volleyball, 2^nd team All-City (Topeka), and All-Centennial League for volleyball. Valerie also received 2^nd team All-City (Topeka) Team as a senior for basketball. Academically, Valerie received All-Centennial Academic team honors and was a Kansas Scholar.
