2019 Women's Volleyball Roster
Biography
OVERVIEW: This will be Shelby’s third year on the Hornets Volleyball Team. The team is looking forward to her making an impact on the court as a defensive specialist and right side hitter. Shelby is a lethal lefty on the right side and she is one of the scrappiest players on the team.
AWARDS/HONORS: Dean’s Honor Roll, Athletics Director Honor Roll, K-INBRE Scholar, scholarships from both the biological and physical science departments
SOPHOMORE YEAR: Shelby played in 18 matches (35 sets). She had a total of 36 digs and 15 kills. Shelby had a .905 serve receive percentage on the year with 85 attempts. She had a season high 8 digs against Fort Hays this season.
FRESHMEN YEAR: Played in 12 matches (28 sets). Had a total of 16 kills and 49 digs on the season. Had a career high 6 kills and 3 digs against Southeastern Oklahoma.
HIGH SCHOOL/BEFORE HONORS: Shelby was a two sport athlete in high school. Lettering in both volleyball and track. She was a player on St. Thomas Aquinas Volleyball team when they finished 2nd and 3rd at the 5A State tournament. Shelby received 2nd team All-State for 5A Volleyball, 1st team EKL League, and was on the principal’s honor roll. In track, Shelby was a part of 4X100 relay team and her squad has the school record.

HOBBIES/INTERESTING FACTS: Shelby has two siblings, an older brother, Colin, who is attending the University of Kentucky next year to play soccer and a younger sister, Claire, who is a freshman in high school.
