Marko Goles Babic

Coach Goles Babic will serve as the interim coach of the Emporia State tennis program in 2018-19 after serving as the graduate assistant coach last season.

Before coming to Emporia, Marko competed at the Division 1 level, spending one year at Ohio State University and three years at San Diego State University. He finished his four year career with a singles record of 56-25. After spending the fall of 2017 competing on the professional tour, Goles Babic currently holds an ATP ranking in both singles and doubles.

As a freshman, Goles Babic helped lift the Buckeyes to a 33-4 overall record, ITA National Indoor Championship, an undefeated 11-0 conference mark and a Big Ten championship, an appearance in the NCAA quarterfinals and as high as a No. 1 national team ranking.

During his tenure at San Diego State, the Aztecs were ranked as high as no. 35 in the NCAA Division 1 team rankings and reached the second round of the NCAA tournament for the first time in nearly 15 years after defeating then no.21 University of San Diego in the first round. Other notable team wins included then no. 21 South Carolina, and then no.22 University of California Berkeley.  During his senior year, Goles Babic and teammate Milen Ianakiev garnered a national ranking in doubles at no. 51. Goles Babic also earned All-Mountain West selections in both singles and doubles, while amassing a 17-10 record and going undefeated in conference matches at the no. 1 position.

Goles Babic graduated from San Diego State University in May of 2017 with a bachelor of science in Economics. He is getting his masters in industrial and organizational psychology from Emporia State University.
