At the end of the 2017 regular season, Buss has made 12 appearances with two starts and seen 17.1 innings pitched. He has a 7.79 ERA and is 1-0 on the season. Buss has 19 strikeouts and 12 walks with a .290 opponent batting average and a save.

During his junior season in 2015, Buss transferred to Oral Roberts where he threw over 30 innings with a 3.14 ERA. He had starts against Texas Tech, Dallas Baptist and Western Illinois while winning a conference championship.

Buss played his freshman and sophomore seasons (2013, 2014) at Coffeyville Community College where he threw over 100 innings and had a sub 3.00 ERA in the two years combined. He pitched a no-hitter against Allen County Community College during his freshman year.

Buss has previously played at Coffeyville Community College and Oral Roberts and attended Jay high school in Jay, Okla.

Buss is majoring in Social Sciences and is the son of Jacqueline Buss. He is the grandson of Jack and Lana Atkins.
