2018-19: Hengeli is a graduate from Olathe South and comes from Johnson County Community College. A Junior, Hengeli has personal bests of 4:33.75 (1600), 8:52.62 (3000), 15:51 (5000) and 33:59 (10,000). Hengeli looks to be a major contributor for the Hornets this Fall.
2019-20: After battling stress fractures in the Fall, Hengeli was able to get back on the track at the Pittsburg State Invitational where he ran a PR in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:51.59. A few weeks later, Hengeli would run a 5000 meter PR at the Gorilla Classic by clocking a 15:47.38. Hengeli's outdoor season was canceled due to COVID-19.
2020-21: Hengeli set a lifetime best in the 5000 meters at the Wichita State Open where he clocked a 15:12.91. He followed that with his first 10k on the track the following week at the Midwest Classic where he ran a 32:14.00
