Biography
In HS
Young is a graduate of Olathe East HS where he was a National Honor Society member and was All-Academic for cross country in 2017. Young played soccer in the Fall and was on the State championship team in 2018. He was also a member of the State winning XC team in 2016. In 2019, Young was a State finalist in both the 1600 meters and the 4x800 relay.
At ESU:
2019-20: Young enters his first year with the Hornets where he won't have to worry about being a dual sport athlete. Young will put all his attention into becoming the best distance runner he can be. He will develop his leadership and physical skills as the year goes on. Young ran a new lifetime best in both the 3000 and 5000 meters at the Bearcat Open by running 9:21.44 and 16:48.61 respectively. Young's outdoor season was canceled due to COVID-19.
2020-21: Young opened his indoor season at the UCM Invitational where he ran a lifetime best of 9:00.96 for 3000 meters. The following week, he set another lifetime best mark, this time in the 5000 meters, by running a 15:38.23 at the Wendy's/PSU MIAA Challenge.

Born December 9, 2000...son of Mark and Lisa Young...has two siblings Cole and Miles...majoring in Nursing.
