A transfer from Ottawa University, Newkirk is in his final season for the Hornets and is the number one runner in cross country for the men's distance program. Coming off a 32:09 at the regional meet, Newkirk received an at-large bid for the National Cross Country Championships. Newkirk will look to end his final season as a Hornet on top by becoming an all-american and contributing to the men's track team at the indoor and outdoor MIAA Conference Championships.
