Burdick is coming to Emporia State from Cheney HS.  His senior season he threw for 1,943 Yards, 23 Touchdowns and completed 66% of his passes while adding 718 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.  In his career Burdick threw for 6,821 yards 83 Touchdowns, and rushed for 1,084 yards and 23 touchdowns.  He was named 3A Offensive Player of the Year by the Wichita Eagle and was named First-Team All-State by Sports in Kansas, KFBCA, KSHSAA, and Vype Magazine his senior year, along with being named the CPL offensive MVP.  His junior season he was the Sports in Kansas Small Class Non-Senior Offensive Player of the Year and was a First-Team All-State Performer. He helped lead the Cardinals to an undefeated State Championship his junior season and to the third round of the state playoffs as a senior.  He is also a member of the Cardinals Basketball team.
