Matt Buhler enters his first year as the Director of Off-Campus Recruiting with the Emporia State Football Program.

Prior to joining the Emporia State coaching staff, Buhler spent the last year as the Event Manager for the SoFi Hawai‘i Bowl and the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic located in Honolulu, HI.

Buhler brings six years of coaching experience to the ESU staff, which includes two years of collegiate basketball experience at Hawai‘i Pacific University. In his two years on staff, HPU went 48-12. The sharks also captured the school’s first ever regular season PAC West Conference Championship and the PAC West Conference Tournament Championship in route to a first round win in the 2017 Division-II NCAA Tournament behind a 29-3 record.

A 2015 graduate of Washburn University, Buhler played receiver for the Ichabods from 2012-2015. He has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Washburn University and a Master’s Degree in Military and Diplomacy Studies from Hawai‘i Pacific University.
