Justin Wieser is in his sixth season as a coach with the Emporia State football program. Since joining the coaching staff in 2010, Wieser has served as the running backs coach and coordinates the strength and conditioning programs for the program.

During the 2015 season, the running back corps showcased their depth under coach Wieser’s guidance. In his sophomore campaign, Landon Nault gained 727 yards, with 179 yards coming from the Hornets’ playoff game against Henderson State in the second round of the NCAA Playoffs. Antonio Brown added 674 yards in addition to Denzel Strong’s rushing for 406 yards.

In 2013, Wieser coached Emporia State's first MIAA Offensive Freshman, running back, Antonio Brown. He had 536 rushing yards with 463 coming in the final seven games of the year, two 100+ yard rushing games, and nine touchdowns.

The Hornets have not had a running back with more than 120 carries for the season during his career, but have averaged over 1,350 yards out of the tailback position each of the last four years. The primary running backs over those years have carried the ball between 69 and 118 times per year and have combined to average over 4.5 yards per carry.
