Eric McCabe will be the first coach in the history of the Emporia State competitive disc golf team. An Emporia native and the 2010 PDGA World Champion, McCabe brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position.
From 2001-16 McCabe won 84 PDGA sanctioned events with 173 top three finishes.He has five top-25 finishes in PDGA World Championship competition, 13 top-25 finishes in other majors including The Players Cup championship in 2008, and he placed in the top-25 of 54 National Tour events during his career.
In addition to his career on the course, McCabe is a world renowned course designer with 75 EMAC designed courses in 27 states and Canada. He is a member of the Board of Directors at Dynamic Discs and was the founder of the Glass Blown Open in Emporia that has evolved into the Dynamic Discs Open, one of the largest disc golf tournaments in the world.
He was in the inaugural class of the Kansas Flying Disc Association Hall of Fame in 2022.
