At the end of the 2017 regular season, McBroom has a .349 batting average, a .615 slugging percentage and a .438 on base percentage. He has 59 hits that include 13 doubles, four triples and eight home runs. McBroom has 45 runs scored and 48 RBI. He scored the walk-off run on a wild pitch in a 9-8 win over Central Missouri on April 7. McBroom has walked 26 times with six stolen bases. He has a .500 batting average when he is the leadoff batter and a .583 batting average with a runner on third and less than two outs.

Last year, after a redshirt season at Emporia State, McBroom hit .298 with an on base percentage of .344, finishing the year with ten doubles, a triple and four home runs. He also posted a .992 fielding percentage. He looks to make large contributions for the Hornets this season.

McBroom was a redshirt for the Hornets in 2015.

As a sophomore at Cowley County Community College in 2014, McBroom hit .391 with an on base percentage of .464 and finished the year with 63 hits including 12 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 35 RBI and 46 runs scored. He was named to all-conference.

As a freshman in 2013 at Cowley County Community College, McBroom hit .290 with a .383 on base percentage and 14 RBI.

McBroom attended Maize High school where he received 1st Team All-league and 2nd Team All-State selection at 2nd Base in his junior season. As a senior he was a 1st team All-League and 1st Team All State selection at short stop.

McBroom is majoring in Engineering, Physics and Economics and is the son of JoAnn McBroom.
