As a sophomore at Dodge City Community College, Laney had a .290 batting average with a .449 OBP. He totaled 13 doubles, four triples, 31 RBI and 50 runs scored.
 
Laney will be a redshirt junior after taking a medical redshirt last season.
 
Laney is majoring in Business Administration and is the son of Gayle and Jack Laney.
