Last season, Wilson had a .154 batting average and slugging percentage and a .353 on base percentage.

As a sophomore, Wilson redshirted at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

As a freshman in 2015 at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Wilson appeared in 31 games with six starts. He had a .122 batting average with a .195 slugging percentage. Wilson was named to the Summit League Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll and Distinguished Scholars List.

While attending Millard North High School, Wilson was a three-year letter winner for Coach Dave Cork and a three-time All-State selection, earning first-team honors as a sophomore and junior and second-team recognition his senior year. As a sophomore he led the state with 53 hits. Wilson was named the Millard North Rotary Scholar and Rotary Club Student of the Year. He was named the Greater Omaha Sports Committee's Baseball Scholar-Athlete Award in 2014.

Wilson is majoring in Business Administration and is the son of Mark and Kathy Wilson.
