Eli Egger

Eli Egger returns for his third year as a member of the Emporia State coaching staff. He will take over as the pitching coach after assisting with the pitchers under current head coach Seth Wheeler for the previous two seasons.

In the previous two seasons at Emporia State, Egger assisted on a pitching staff that ranked third in the MIAA with a 4.68 team ERA, led by 2018 MIAA Pitcher of the Year, Seth Holman. The Hornets were the 2017 MIAA regular season champions, made two NCAA tournaments, hosting the 2017 Central regional, and had a record of 76-37 over those two seasons.

Prior to Emporia State, Egger served as the pitching coach for Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan. in 2016. Under Egger’s coaching, Benedictine’s pitching staff lowered their team ERA, and decreased their walk totals from the prior year, and was a member of a coaching staff that had their most team wins since 2009.

Egger was a member of the pitching staff at both Benedictine College and Kansas City Kansas Community College. While at Benedictine, he was a member of the Heart of America All-Tournament team in 2015.

Egger obtained his Masters degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Emporia State. He also holds a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Benedictine, and an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts from KCKCC.
