2018 - Ammons will anchor the Hornets defense in his junior season.

2017- Ammons earned second-team All-MIAA honors. He led the MIAA and ranked 25th in the nation in tackles for loss and was second in the league in sacks.  He recorded 17.5 TFL, 8.5 sacks, and 53 total tackles to go with four forced fumbles, six quarterback hurries and an interception.

2016 - Ammons was fourth in the MIAA with 7.0 sacks. He had six tackles, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble and blocked a punt against Minn.-Duluth. He was credited with four tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a pass break up and two quarterback hurries at Missouri Western. He had a sack and forced fumble against Ft. Hays State. He had five tackles including one for a loss at Pittsburg State. He had four tackles, half a sack and two quarterback hurries against Lindenwood. He had a sack and strip in the end zone on the second play from scrimmage at Northeastern State that resulted in a Hornet defensive touchdown. He was credited with three tackles, a quarterback hurry and batted down a pass at the line of scrimmage against Central Okla.  He had three tackles and recovered a fumble at Central Missouri. Both of his tackles against Missouri Southern were for a loss with one being a sack. He had three tackles including a sack for a loss of ten yards at Neb.-Kearney. He had two unassisted tackles and a quarterback hurry in his Hornet debut against Northwest Missouri.

2015 - Ammons redshirted for Emporia State, becoming a big part of the defensive scout team, earning two "Emporia State Players of the Week."

High School - Ammons comes from Omaha, Neb. He attended Omaha North high school.
