Three Top Ten Individual Finishes for Emporia State Women at National Championships

Men have three in top ten after first round of D1 and D2 singles

April 8, 2026-Emporia State finished day one of the Collegiate Disc Golf National Championships with three top ten finishes in the women's competition and have three men advancing to the Thursday's Final 9 in Rock Hill, S.C.
 
Atlanta Krueger placed fifth in the individual women's competition while teammate Isabella Parker finished in a tie for seventh with Madeline Joiner tied for ninth. Emporia State was the only school to have three players advance to the Final 9 competition for the national championship. Olivia Evans placed 19th and just missed the cut of the top 16 scores for the Final 9 while Maya Ringgold finished tied for 23rd after the first round. Sarah Pittenger-Reed was 47th and Avangelena Campbell finished 68th to round out the Hornets in the singles competition.
 
The individual scores were combined to give team scores headed into the first round of team competition and the Emporia State Black team of Joiner and Parker is tied for first place with Liberty at even par. The Hornet Gold team of Krueger and Ringgold are in fifth at +6 while the ESU White team of Pittenger-Reed and Evans are in 13th place at +14.
 
Jaden Rye is in first place by three strokes after the first round of singles action for the D1 men. He shote -6 over the first 18 while Carter Ahrens went -1 to sit in fifth place as they both will qualify for the Final 9 on Thursday.  TJ Reel finished in a tie for 21st while Tyler Ahrens was in 78th out of 192 competitors.
 
The men's D1 team of Rye, Reel, Carter and Tyler Ahrens is in first place after singles at +1 for two stroke lead over Milligan headed into the team competition.
 
In the men's D2 competition Isaiah Esquivel is in second place after shooting -2 through the first 18 holes and will advance to the Final 9 on Thursday.  Caden Stucky and Joshua Sterner each finished in a tie for 42nd and Grant Yoder was tied for 87th out of 190 D2 players.
 
In the D2 men's team competition, Emporia State's Esquivel, Stucky, Sterner and Yoder will start Thursday's play at +5 and tied for third overall.
 
Competition will resume on Thursday at the course around Rock Hill, S.C. with team rounds in all divisions and the Final 9 for the men's D1 and D2.
