March 28, 2026 – Emporia State baseball struggled offensively for the second straight game, falling in game two of their road series against #15 Rogers State 10-0 on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Rogers State got the first base runner to lead off the bottom of the first, but
Dylan Brisbois cut down an attempted steal and a strikeout by
Colby Deaver clinched a scoreless first frame in Claremore.
In the second, Emporia State got a leadoff walk by
Noah Steele and eventually put two runners on with one out but were unable to convert the opportunity into runs. Rogers State responded in the bottom half with two base runners of their own and tallied two runs on an Emporia State error to take a 2-0 lead over the Hornets.
The fourth inning saw Rogers State start with a pair of softly hit singles to left, and the Hillcats converted the start into three more runs, extending their lead to 5-0.
Emporia State managed lone runners in each of their final two at-bats, but came up empty, while the Hillcats scored in each of their final four turns at the plate, which included two runs in the sixth and seventh innings to seal to 10-0 win over Emporia State.

The Hornets managed two hits, three walks and a pair of hit batters but were kept off the board for the second straight game.
