February 28, 2026-It was another sweep for Emporia State disc golf as they took all of the team titles at the Jayhawk Boom at Bloom Conference Event held at the Bloomington Disc Golf Course at Clinton Lake.

In the Division I men's singles competition
Carter Ahrens overcame a double bogey on #3 to edge out teammate
TJ Reel and Kansas State's Sam Howey for the title by two strokes. Ahrens shot -8 while Reel and Howey finished at -6 for the round. Emporia State's Tyler Ahrens shot -5 to tie for fourth while
Micah Tatro was in a tie for sixth at -3 for the morning session. That foursome combined to go -15 in the team competition to secure a 14 stroke win over K-State who finished a -6 for the tournament.

Defending national champion
Atlanta Krueger and fellow Hornet
Madeline Joiner tied for the women's individual lead with a +4 in the singles competition while Emporia State's
Maya Ringgold was third at +10. Â The ESU Gold Team of Krueger and Ringgold's scores in the singles were enough to overcome a one stroke deficit to ESU Black Team of Joiner and
Isabella Parker during the team round.  The Gold Team took the overall title with a +7 while the Black Team was at +8 for the 1-2 finish.

In the Division II men's competition, Hornets took the top three spots.Â
Isaiah Esquivel and
Joshua Sterner both shot -6 in the singles with
Grant Yoder finishing in third at three under.
Caden Stucky placed seventh at +1 in the singles competition. The four Hornets then combined to shoot -12 in the team round for a four stroke victory over the host Kansas Blue Team as the Jayhawks had a score of -8 in the team round.

The Hornets have one more conference event scheduled for late March at Wichita State before heading to South Carolina for the Collegiate Disc Golf National Championships in April.
