January 26, 2026 – D2 Baseball released their Preseason All-American teams and Noah Steele earned Second Team recognition heading into the 2026 campaign.
 
Steele is coming off a strong 2025 season where he posted team-highs with a .368 average, 15 home runs, 53 RBI, .460 on-base percentage, .684 slugging percentage and 1.144 OPS. Five of his six marks ranked top ten in the MIAA last season. Steele had 14 games with multiple RBI, including driving in four runs on three occasions.
 
Steele looks to lead the Hornet lineup again in 2026 as Emporia State enters year one under Hornet baseball alum John Martin. The Hornets will open their season on Friday, January 30 against Adams State. First pitch from Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in Tucson, Ariz. is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. MT.
