Emporia State Baseball Earns ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

July 23, 2025-The Emporia State baseball team was awarded the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack for their efforts in the class room last year.
 
This award recognizes ABCA member teams from all levels of high school and collegiate baseball that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year.
 
The 39 Hornets on the roster in 2024-25 had a combined 3.20 GPA throughout the school year. A total of 15 Hornets have maintained at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA in their collegiate careers.
 
Emporia State was one of just five MIAA schools to earn an ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award this year.
 
In coach Brad Hill's second season Emporia State earned a trip to the MIAA Tournament for the first time since 2022. The Hornets' 23 wins and 16 wins in the MIAA this spring were the most since the 2019 season.
