May 2, 2025-Emporia State battled back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the dual but could complete the comeback in a 4-3 loss to Central Oklahoma in the MIAA Women's Tennis Tournament.

In a battle of second-team All-MIAA doubles teams, the Bronchos Ayaka Koga and Pete Komada came away with a 6-1 win at #2 doubles by over Emporia State's
Perla Conde Vendrell and Lili Bizouerne. Anika Ouwejan and Nefeli Sefeiri clinched the first point with a 6-3 win over
Yuliya Klimova and
Paige Stranghoner.

UCO went up 2-0 as 26th ranked Komada won 6-4, 6-2 over
Giovanna Ferreira at #1 singles. Ouwejan defeated Bizouerne 6-3, 6-4 at #4 to put the Bronchos within a point of clinching the dual.

Stranghoner got Emporia State on the board with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Hui Soo at #6 singles. Conde Vendrell made it 3-2 with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Koga at #3 singles before
Anastasia Pesic took a 6-2, 6-3 win over Karyna Yurchenko at #5 to tie the dual at 3-3. In the deciding match at #2 singles Klimova took second-team All-MIAA performer Zefeiri to a tiebreaker in the first set before falling. Klimova led 5-4 in the second but Zefeiri was able to win the final three games to pull out a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 win to advance the Bronchos to the semifinals.

Emporia State ended the season 10-10, their first .500 season since going 8-8 in 2020-21.
