The Emporia State tennis teams return to the Kossover Family Tennis Center as ranked teams for a weekend series against the Kansas City Crown duo of Rockhurst and William Jewell.

QUICK LOOK AT THE HORNETS
The Emporia State men are 5-1 on the season and ranked #28 in the latest ITA Division II National Rankings.
The Hornets are led byÂ
Anton Sarunic who is 11-3 overall this year with a 3-1 mark this spring against four year players in dual competition at the #1 slot. He is ranked #33 nationally in the latest individual singles rankings. Â
Mostafa Elbasnaly is 11-4 overall with a 5-1 record in spring duals with three wins at #2 and a win each at #1 and #3 singles.Â
Alexis Mattenberger is also 10-3 overall with a 5-0 mark in duals, with three wins coming at the #6 position, one at #5 and one at the #3 slot.Â
Diego Calvo is 10-5 overall with a 2-2 mark at the #4 singles position this spring.
Duvan Santiago Torres is 7-4 overall and has gone 2-0 this spring with wins at #2 and #4 singles.

Gwendal Mazuay are 5-1 on the spring in doubles with three wins at #3 and two at the #2 position while Elbasnaly andÂ
Hachem Fahem are 3-2 in doubles this spring with a 3-0 mark at the #2 spot.

The Emporia State women are 3-2 on the season and ranked #50 in the nation.Â
Lilie Bizouerne is 3-2 this spring with two wins at #3 and a win at #4 singles.Â
Giovanna Ferreira is 2-2 at #1 singles while Yuliya Kilmova is 2-3 overall with a 2-2 mark at the #2 spot.Â
Anastasia Pesic is 3-1 with a 2-0 mark at #5 while Â
Paige Stranghoner is 3-1 at the #6 slot. Â
The women have used six different doubles combinations this spring with Bizouerne and Stranghoner the only pair to pair up in all five spring duals, going 2-3 at the #1 position.
KNOW THE FOE
The Rockhurst men are 4-3 overall and ranked #31 in the nation. Semyon Tsyrenov is 14-5 overall and ranked #11 in the nation while Louis Keiner is #44 nationally and 12-5 on the season. Keiner and Josef Truhlar are ranked #49 nationally with a 4-3 combined record.
The William Jewell men are 4-3 overall with a 1-3 record against NCAA Division II competition. Ugnius Bickauskis is their top ranked player with a 9-3 overall record this year.
The Rockhurst women are 4-3 overall and ranked #38 in the nation. Eleanor Coleman is ranked #9 in the nation with a 12-2 record in singles play. In doubles play Daniela Lentisco and Zuzanna Szmyd are ranked #23 nationally while Szmyd joins with Coleman to rank #34 in the nation.
The William Jewell women are 2-7 on the year with wins over Avila and Saint Mary (Kan.).
LAST SERVES
The Hornet Men fell in all three doubles matches sa the Chaps took the doubles point over Emporia State. Lubbock Christian also secured singles points at #2-4 to clinch the 4-0 win over the Hornets.

Yuliya Klimova took #3 doubles 6-3 over the Chaps. In singles, Emporia State was unable to grab a point, as the Hornets fell in three sets in four positions on Saturday, falling 7-0.

The next action for Emporia State will be a pair of exhibition matches against Cowley County CC on Tuesday, March 11 at the Kossover Family Tennis Center.
