February 21, 2025-The Emporia State men's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win over Friends on Friday at the Kossover Family Tennis Center.

The duo of
Gwendal Mazuay and
Alexis Mattenberger moved up to #2 doubles and remained undefeated on the season with a 6-2 win to get the Hornets started.Â
Anton Sarunic and
Luke West clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at #1 and
Harris Kossover and
Duvan Santiago Torres completed the doubles sweep with a 6-1 win at #3.

The Hornets showed off their depth in singles with three players making their spring season debuts while the other three all played at different positions.Â
Mostafa Elbasnaly moved into the #1 spot and took a 6-1, 6-0 win. Santiago Torres made his singles spring debut with a 6-1, 6-2 win at #2 and Mattenberger clinched the dual win with a 6-2, 6-0 victory in his first match at #3 singles this spring. Mazuay did not give up a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win in his first match at #4 singles this spring.Â
Jan Engel made his spring debut with a 6-2, 6-0 win at #5 and West wrapped up the clean sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #6 in his first singles action.

Emporia State will be back in action on Saturday, February 22 when they play host to Sterling. First serve from the Kossover Family Tennis Center is set for 10:30 a.m. Â
