Emporia State Women's Tennis Rolls to 7-0 Win Over McPherson

February 11, 2025-The Emporia State women's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win over McPherson on Tuesday afternoon at the Kossover Family Tennis Center.
 
The Hornets got out to an early lead with Lilie Bizouerne and Paige Stranghoner winning 6-1 at #1 doubles.  McPherson evened the doubles with a 6-4 win at the #2 spot.  Yuliya Klimova and Sheriden Wichman won 6-1 at #3 to secure the doubles point for Emporia State.
 
Moving to singles Giovanna Ferreira won 6-1, 6-2 at #1 and Klimova picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at #2 singles to give Emporia State a 3-0 lead.  Anastasia Pesic clinched the dual win for ESU with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the #4 spot.  Bizouerne had the closest match of the day with a 6-1, 7-5 win at #3 singles.  Wichman won 6-2, 6-1 at #5 before Stranghoner closed out the dual with a 6-1, 6-0 win at #6 singles.
 
The Hornet women will be back in action on Sunday, February 16 when they travel to Drury.  First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield, Mo.
