December 20, 2025 – The Lady Hornets struggled offensively beyond the first quarter, as they fell 72-64 in a road test against Angelo State on Saturday afternoon.
In the first quarter, the Lady Hornets shot 9-16 from the floor, including a blistering 6-6 from three as they held a 24-15 over Angelo State through the first ten minutes. Emporia State's offense slowed in the second quarter, as the Lady Hornets were just 2-14 from the floor and 0-6 from three. Emporia State was able to continue limiting the Angelo State offense in the first half, as the Rams shot just 12-33 in the first half and 2-14 from three as the Lady Hornets held a 33-28 lead at the halftime break.
Following the break, the Lady Hornets were outscored by six in the third frame, as Angelo State took a narrow 49-48 advantage into the fourth. In the fourth, the Rams gradually expanded their lead over the Lady Hornets, as Emporia State was unable to regain the lead for the remainder of the game.
The offensive end plagued Emporia State throughout the second half, as the Lady Hornets were just 2-12 from three in the final 20 minutes, including a trio of misses with under a minute to go with Emporia State trailing 69-63. Angelo State was able to hold off Emporia State as the Lady Hornets fell 72-64 in their final game of the calendar year.

Kaitlyn Sanders matched her season-high with 26 points, while adding five rebounds and five assists.
Gracie Gilpin joined Sanders in double-figures with 14 points and
Kaylin Noonan had a team-high 10 rebounds, her third game in the last four reaching double-digits.
