SOONER STATE THANKSGIVING
Emporia State will spend the Thanksgiving weekend in Oklahoma taking on Oklahoma Baptist on Friday and Northwestern Oklahoma on Saturday.

ABOUT THE HORNETS
Emporia State is 2-2 on the season. They have wins over teams picked to finish second in boththe NSIC and GAC. Seven different players have scored in double figures this season. Andrew Pengel is the top scorer at 16.0 points per game. Dallas Bear is averaging 12.8 points and 4.0 rebounds while Chris Harris adds 11.5 points and 5.5 rebounds. Trey Redd is averaging 8.5 points and 3.5 assists per game.

ABOUT THE BISON
Oklahoma Baptist is 4-0 and ranked #19 in the nation. They have wins over MIAA opponents Missouri Southern and Pittsburg State. Terry Coner Jr. is their leading scorer at 21.3 points and 3.0 assists while Joshua Udoumoh adds 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. 

ABOUT THE RANGERS
Northwestern Oklahoma is 2-3 after a win over Kansas Wesleyan. Max Alexander is their leading scorer at 20.6 points per game while Robbie Armbrester adds 19.3 points and 6.3 boards per game. 

ABOUT THE COACHES
Tom Billeter is 503-294 in his 28th season as a head coach and is 13-20 in his second season at Emporia State after going 394-224 in 21 years at Augustana. With the Vikings he won the 2016 National Championship, went to nine NCAA Tournaments, won three regular season NSIC Championships, two NSIC Tourney Championships, and 18 consecutive winning seasons. This will be his first meeting with Oklahoma Baptist and Northwestern Oklahoma.
Jason Eaker is 117-81 in his eighth year at Oklahoma Baptist. This is his first meeting with Emporia State.
Robbie Harmon is 44-46 in his fourth year at Northwestern Oklahoma. This is his first meeting with Emporia State.

LAST TIME VS OKLAHOMA BAPTST
The Hornets and Bison have not met since a 75-69 win by Oklahoma Baptist in 1959.

Oklahoma Baptist leads the series 4-0 with all four games played between 1954 and 1959.

LAST TIME VS NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA
Emporia State battled back from a four point deficit with under a minute to play to force overtime before falling 94-90 at Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Okla. Jack Peck hit two free throws with 1:05 left to give Northwestern an 80-76 lead.  Sawyer Glick answered with a three-pointer to cut the lead to one with 50 seconds left.  AJ Jones hit two free throws to give the Rangers an 82-79 lead with 28 seconds left.  Malik Hluchoweckyj got the hoop and the harm with 15 seconds left to tie the game at 82 and Peck missed a jumper at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.
The Rangers came out on fire in the overtime and scored the first eight points of the extra frame to take a 90-82 lead with 3:33 left.  The Hornets responded with an 8-2 run of their own and Sawyer Glick hit his fifth three-pointer of the game with 1:14 left to cut the lead to 92-90. Andres missed a three-pointer at the end of the shot clock but Peck was able to get the offensive rebound with 43 seconds left. Peck then scored with 25 seconds left to give the Rangers a two possession lead.  Justin Jackson missed a three-pointer with 16 seconds left and Hluchoweckyj missed another with 12 seconds left.  AJ Jones missed two free throws with 8.6 seconds to give the Hornets a glimmer of hope, but Sawyer Glick's guarded three-pointer was off the mark and the clock expired for the 94-90 Ranger win.
Sawyer Glick led Emporia State with 19 points and was five of ten from beyond the three-point line. He was joined in double figures by Hluchoweckyj with 18 points, Jackson with 15 and Kooper Glick with 13 points. 

SERIES HISTORY WITH THE RANGERS
Emporia State leads the all-time series 14-12, however Northwestern Oklahoma has won the last three meetings by a total of nine points with the last game going to overtime. The last Hornet win was an 80-72 decision on November 24, 2015 in Emporia and the last ESU win in Alva was a 66-61 victory on November 25, 2014.
