The Lady Hornets take on former MIAA member Missouri S&T in the home opener in White Auditorium. Emporia State has won 41 of their last 46 home openers.

Emporia State is 1-2 on the season and have played the third toughest schedule in the MIAA to date.

Missouri S&T is 1-1 on the year after splitting two games at the Midwest Region Crossover last weekend. Norah Gum averages 14.0 points and 6.5 boards per game to lead the Miners.

MJ Baker is 1-2 in her first season with the Lady Hornets and is 52-48 in her fourth year as a head coach at a four year institution. She has won 334 games as a collegiate coach and comes to Emporia State after an eight year run at Eastern Florida State College. She went 183-58 with three conference championships and three trips to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament during her time. This is her first meeting with Missouri S&T.
Kira Carter is 54-80 in her sixth year at Missouri S&T. She is 1-0 against Emporia State.
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE MINERS
This is the 26th meeting all-time between the Lady Hornets and Miners and the first one in White Auditorium since 2005. Emporia State leads the all-time series 20-5 and had won 18 straight in the series prior to last year's S&T win in Rolla. The Lady Hornets have won ten straight over the Miners in White Auditorium dating back to a 67-65 win by then Missouri-Rolla on Feberuary 1, 1995.

Missouri S&T hit a school record 17 three-pointers as they defeated Emporia State 85-67 on the Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving in Rolla, Mo.
Katie Horyna had her first career double-double with 25 points and ten rebounds for the Lady Hornets.
Gracie Gilpin was one shy of her career high with 22 points but they were the only Lady Hornets in double figures.

MJ Baker her first win as Emporia State defeated Southwest Baptist 84-61 in Bolivar, Mo. on Tuesday night.

Kaylin Noonan scoring ther first six points of a 10-0 run to go up 59-36 with 2:50 left in the period. Emporia State took their biggest lead of the night on a pair of
Katiya Casey free throws with 6:18 left for a 73-44 lead.
Gracie Gilpin tied her career high with six made three-pointers, all in the second quarter, to finish with 22 points.
Kaitlyn Sanders matched her for game high honors with 22 poitns on six of nine shooting from the field with five assists.
Macey Gandee had a double-double with ten points and a career high 11 rebounds.
